MOT reminder service extended to lorries and busses

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have announced that their MOT reminder service for cars and bikes has now been extended to include lorries, buses and lorry trailers.

To sign up for the service you will need the vehicle’s registration number and a mobile phone number of email address.

For cars and bikes you will get a reminder one month before the MOT is due and another 2 weeks before the MOT is due if you still haven’t had your vehicle tested.

For lorries, buses and lorry trailers you will get a reminder 2 months before the MOT is due and another 1 month before if you still haven’t had your vehicle tested.

The mobile and email service is not yet available in Northern Ireland, you can however sign up for a postal reminder 7 weeks before the MOT is due.
