REVISED CORONAVIRUS RULES FOR INTERNATIONAL HAULIERS

Earlier this year the Government introduced new rules for hauliers entering England from outside of the Common Travel Area (UK, the Crown Dependencies (Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man) and Ireland) staying for longer than 2 days. Under these rules hauliers must take a coronavirus test within two days of arrival and every 3 days thereafter.

Except where required for essential purposes, including obtaining food, seeking medical and emergency assistance, using wash facilities including using communal showers, refuelling, and to ensure vehicles and loads are roadworthy, hauliers must also self-isolate in the cab for the duration of their time in England.  Hauliers who are UK residents are able to isolate at home whilst not working.

Following the changes to general Coronavirus regulations in England that came into force on 19th July, there are also some changes to the requirements for international hauliers.

if you have been fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme, and have not been in a red list country or France in the 10 days before you arrive in England then you no longer need to isolate in your cab on arrival in England or take further tests after your day 2 test. You will still need to declare that you have been fully vaccinated on your passenger locator form and show proof of your vaccination status to your carrier, e.g. ferry operator, when you travel.

Further hauliers travelling to Germany from the UK only require a COVID-19 test if they will be in Germany for longer than 72 hours.
