The United Kingdom Lubricants Association Metalworking Fluid Product Stewardship Group, in association with the HSE and University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, have produced a set of 10 short videos, all between 1 to 5 minutes long, on various aspects of practical work with metalworking fluids.
The videos consider the topics of:
- Looking after metalworking fluids
- Conducting visual and odour checks
- Taking metalworking fluid samples
- Monitoring for tramp oil
- Using a refractometer to check the metalworking fluid concentration
- Measuring the PH of metalworking fluid
- Using dipslides to monitor bacteria
- Recording the results of metalworking fluid quality checks
- How to store metalworking fluids
As well as a video providing an overall summary of the topic. Each of the videos involve experts in the field and are aimed at providing easy to follow information for workshop owners, managers, health & safety representatives, workshop supervisors, machine operators and trainee operators. This includes advice, information, and practical demonstrations.
All the videos can be found free to watch on the UKLA Metalworking Fluid Product Stewardship group YouTube channel.
