The Health and Safety Authority in the Republic of Ireland has published a new code of practice regarding the use of chemical agents and carcinogens. The new Code of Practice combines the 2001 Carcinogen Regulations with its amendments in 2015 and 2019.

The Code of Practice outlines various chemical agents and carcinogens and the Occupational Exposure Limit Values associated with them. This includes EU-derived Values, advisory Values, and chemical Occupational Exposure Limit Values / Biological Limit Values that the Health and Safety Authority intends to introduce or change.

The Chemical Agents Code of Practice 2024 can be downloaded from the HSA’s website.

In England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland similar information can be found in the HSE’s publication EH40 Workplace Exposure Limits, which is available from the HSE’s website.
